Ava's First Birthday

Can you believe that Ava is already 1? She is 28.25 inches long and 19 lbs 15oz which puts her in the 25%tile for her age and her head circumference is in the 90%tile. We had a fantastic birthday weekend. Ava started her day off with a feast of waffles. The picture below is of Ava waiting for her breakfast and the look on her face says it all, "Put that camera down and get me my food!" After her morning nap, we headed out to the local Children's Discovery Museum. Daddy tried to teach Ben how to play checkers and they put together a puzzle of a human skeleton. Ava enjoyed checking herself out in the funhouse mirror. The look on her face in the picture is her latest silly expression when she's up to no good.



After another nap, the cousins and the neighbors came to help us celebrate with cake and ice cream. I made Ava a teddy bear cake which she got very excited looking at because she has become quite an animal lover. I had a special cupcake for her which she devoured so fast that she hardly made any mess eating it. The only bad part about the cupcake is that is hopped her up so much on sugar that she didn't want to go to bed that night.
